Castle men look cool under pressure against Llangefni Seconds in Gwynedd cup at Bro Ffestiniog Gwynedd Cup Match Report Wednesday 19th April 2017

Harlech 34 - Llangefni Seconds 21

Having emphatically demolished Llangollen at home on Easter Saturday the castle men was eager to secure their second victory in succession when they faced Llangefni Seconds in the Gwynedd cup under the Bro Ffestiniog floodlights. It was Harlech who made the brightest start courtesy of a successful Aeron Griffiths penalty kick and it got even better for the castle men just a few minutes later as Martin Williams went over for an unconverted try this spurred Harlech on and it was soon followed when the castle men influential captain Eon Williams went over for a converted try. However the castle men upped the tempo and the influential Cedri Williams went over for an unconverted try just before half time for a score line of Harlech 20 - Llangefni Seconds - 0.

The Castle men were further rewarded in the first few minutes of the second half courtesy of a converted try by Ewart Williams. However after a long period of extended pressure by Llangefni Seconds they finally went over for a converted try courtesy of second row Aron Oliver but this was short lived as the influential Harlech winger Ynyr Roberts went over for a converted try. However Llangefni Seconds had the last word with two late converted tries courtesy of Rhys Williams and was followed just before the final whistle with another try courtesy of number 8 Meirion Evans who went over for a converted try to leave a full time score line of Harlech 34 - Llangefni Seconds -21.

Meanwhile Harlech next faces a vital home game against Shotton Steel on Saturday 22 April 2017 with a 14-30 kick off Llangefni nominated the Castle men winger Osian Williams as man of the match after his brilliant superb performance.
