A much improved castle men were second best in a entertaining game that saw a total of ten tries being scored and it started horribly for the Castle men as Shotton Steel opened the scoring courtesy of a converted John Ketland try however the castle men soon responded with an unconverted try from no 8 Sion Rees and soon afterwards Harlech took a brief lead after a barnstorming run from prop Gethin Evans ended up with winger Carwyn Jones going over for an unconverted try. However Shotton regained the lead straight away courtesy of an unconverted Shaun Kemp try and more Shotton Pressure led to their third try courtesy of winger Joe Duncan to leave an interval score line of Harlech 10 - Shotton Steel 19.
The second half also started badly for the castle men with Shotton taking full advantage to cross for their bonus point courtesy of a converted Darren Rees try before more tries followed courtesy of John Ketland with Steve Ellson successfully converting

Scored by their influential captain Eon Williams who dived over the line after a missed tackle by Shotton Steel but however that was short lived as Shotton found an extra gear and they were rewarded when winger Joe Duncan went over for his second try with Steve Ellson successfully converting to leave a full time score line of Harlech 17- Shotton Steel 45. Meanwhile Harlech play their last home league game of the season when they host Llanidloes next Saturday April 29 with a 14-30 kick off. Shotton Steel nominated home centre Andrew Stone Williams as the man of the match .
