Swalec Division two North East Match Reports Saturday April 15th 2017
Harlech 42 - Llangollen 17
Harlech RFC finally ended their run of three straight defeats in dramatic fashion as they secured a bonus point home victory over Llangollen and it was Harlech who made the brightest start courtesy of a converted Eilir Hughes try and it got even better for the castle men courtesy of an unconverted Llion Kerry try before Andrew Stone Williams went over for a converted try. However this spurred on Llangollen who themselves scored next with a converted Mike Jones try and just on the stroke of half time Iestyn Hughes was successful with a penalty kick to leave a half time score line Harlech 19 - Llangollen 10.
Harlech then upped the tempo in the second half and were rewarded further with the bonus point try courtesy of Ewart Williams who went over for an unconverted try only for Llangollen to reply courtesy of a converted try by James Clay brook, and however Harlech were not finished there as Ben Cartwright went over for an unconverted try before the influential Llion Kerry went over for his second try and just before fulltime Llion Kerry went over to complete his hat trick of tries and leave a fulltime score line of Harlech 42 - Llangollen 17.
Meanwhile Harlech next faces a important home game against Shotton Steel next Saturday 22nd April 2017 with a 14-30 kick off. Llangollen nominated Llion Kerry as today’s man of the match.
