Castle-men made a dramatic late comeback but just fell short

Match report Saturday 8th April 2017 - Harlech 25 - Wrexham 34
Harlech fell just short despite a late dramatic climax as the castle men ran in three tries in the second half. The first started brightly for Harlech as outside half Aeron Griffiths was successful with a penalty kick but however it was Wrexham who responded with a successful penalty of their own from Ryan Foulkes but the score was not tied for long as Aeron Griffiths was again successful with his second penalty but a few minutes later the score was again tied at Harlech 6- Wrexham 6 and this brought Wrexham into life and they were rewarded with a converted try courtesy of prop John Gill but however soon afterwards Wrexham full back Nick Dodd went over for another converted try and it was soon followed by another Wrexham converted try courtesy of scrum half Gavin Jones for a half time score line of Harlech 6- Wrexham 27 .
It was Harlech who also made the brightest start to the second half as outside half Aeron Griffiths went over to score a converted try and as the castle men tried to up the tempo they were rewarded with an unconverted try courtesy of full back Gareth Davies . This however spurred the visitors to claim a bonus point with their fourth converted try courtesy of lock Joss Stott the castle men were not finished there and number 8 Sion Rees ran in for a converted try to make a full time score line of Harlech 25 - Wrexham 34.
Meanwhile Harlech will faces the second of four home games against Llangollen next Saturday 15th April 2017 with a 14-30 kick off.
