Harlech hold on to secure home victory over Rhyl

Having claimed an impressive away victory over Menai Bridge the previous weekend the Castle men was determined to continue their good start to the new year by gaining some revenge over Rhyl for their narrow 32-28 away defeat earlier in the season However it was the visitors who started brightly with a Dale Blackmore converted try but their lead did not last long with Andrew Stone Williams scoring a converted try to leave the halftime scoreline tied at Harlech 7 Rhyl 7. The first points of the second half was scored by Rhyl when Ben Jones kicked a successful Penalty however after dominated for most of the second half the Castle men finally scored their second try when Ieuan Williams went over for an unconverted try and as time ran out Harlech made sure of victory when Alex Evans went over for an unconverted try to leave a fulltime score line of Harlech 17 - Rhyl 10 Martin Perch was nominated as man of the match meanwhile Harlech next faces a hard away match at Llangefni next Saturday 21st January 2017 with a 14-30 kick off.
